Roo's knocked his toes and ripped his nails

Recommended Posts

Just a quickie, Roo damaged his nails a week and a half ago coming back after a run with the outside toe on EVERY foot bleeding! :icon_eek: As he's never hurt his feet before so I'm just wondering how long to rest him for? I gave him a week of crate rest and on the lead exercise and his nails seemed fine. I gave him a quick easy run on Friday +(a week later) but he came back with one of the nails bleeding again.

How long should I keep him on restricted exercise and crate rest?

Luckily the nail didn't break, it was just bleeding around the root of the nail.

6 Weeks!! that's the end of his season then! I was hoping to start the pup towards the end of April with some easy Rabbits and maybe retrieve a shot cub or two. I was hoping Roo would be able to show her the ropes but I guess I'll have to just run her on her own for now?

Thank you for the advice,

All the Best.

Luke.
