whin 463
cather you can have lots of good dogs but not lots of great all rounders ,one that can catch thirty rabbs bolted or lamped catch 2 out of 3 daylite hares , fill the butchers slab , knack afox if he is in the wrong place , get birds ,had them but the bilud and to reproduce the build and the time to make them in that stamp ,localy is hard ,at times ,and retreive etc in agood fashion had them but to much time to train them , more trainig less runing at times localy Quote Link to post
Endgame 68
We used to get our pups out on the moors at 8 month old and give them the odd run on blue hares and 6 months on blue hare leverets only dogs i have seen come to greif up their were dogs that had been held back. This theory about holding young dogs back comes imho from the raceing freternity were dogs have to be a certain age to compete. YOUR RIGHT POACHER. GETTING A YOUNG DOG OUT & ABOUT GETTING USED 2 RUNNING ABOUT ALL TYPES OF TERRAIN FROM A YOUNG AGE WILL ONLY HELP IT & THE MORE TIME YOU SPEND WITH EACH OTHER THE BETTER YOUR RELATIONSHIP WILL BE. YOU TAKE A YOUNG DOG USED 2 RUNNING AROUND A FLAT PARK TO RUN OVER A ROUGH MOOR & YOUR JUST ASKING FOR TROUBLE. Quote Link to post
