I have always mail ordered brodifacoum based baits from companys i have accounts with, i honestly dont think they should be selling it over the counter, if they can it seems pretty stupid to me.

What's the point?

Well, if you only did it as a way to buy professional use rodenticides, then I suppose it must be expensive.

However, if you did it to demonstrate to your customers that you have a basic knowledge of pest management, and therefore, can offer them a better service than the average wally in pest control, then it's quite cheap.

It's also a way of demonstrating your legal obligation to make sure that you are 'competent', so that you can get insurance, and protect yourself from the courts.

I understand that it is frustrating that so many 'professional use' baits are available to the general public, but as I often tell customers; "it's not the bait you use, but how you use it".

Only certain products can be bought over the counter at say your local agri merchant, that might be ok to knock over a few rats or mice,When you buy it it doesnt teach You about the biology of rodents, or give you the experience of meeting likeminded profesionals you would meet on a course,Why do You think so many DIYers fail Lack of training and knowledge, training and exams like these = Cost Effective Pest Control sounds like a good add slogan :whistling:

I could go out tomorrow and buy a electronic test meter wouldn't have a clue how to use it.

what pisses you off is you have had to study and pay for the privilage to use these baits...just took over a farm d.i.y rat job,the amount of baits scattered every where i,m suprised theres any wildlife left in the area, they don,t care about the consequence...and now they get a crack at indoor use only baits...indoor use ,yeah right, it will be scattered over most farmyards in somerset........
