I have a viper sat atop my hmr and its great i think its a top quality scope for the money but rarely use it on 16x mag as it may start to struggle as in it has a slight cloudy view if its a very over cast day i would still recommend one and not hold back on buying one all the same :D

i now people who have the viper on rimfire and centrefire rifles. no complaints from them and they would defintely reccomend them....that said "mr logic" on here doesn't like the low light capability of his.

i have just bought a hawke "nite eye" for my 6.5x55 to get me by intil i can afford a S&B 8x56 ... a lad from on here has one on his .243 so on his reccomendation i bought one!!!!! i was sceptical as hawke is known for air rifle stuff usually. i have been using it on my 6.5x55 with out a mod and had no problems (60 shots fired) so far wth it holding zero and the light gathering is suprisingly good...i mean really good for the price / easily as good if not better than the viper!

i did buy a decent set of leoupold mounts for it though.

hope this helps!
