Crow decoys... Are they any good?

I'm thinking of getting some crow decoys..... Do they work well?? Whats the best type to buy?

 

Anyone shed any light on this?

get the flocked coated ones they are little more exspensive than the plastic coated ones but look better, they can be very afective in the right places

never tried an off the shelf deek, but usually shoot 1 when decoying for woodies, and after putting it out does attract a lot of crows!

 

I usually set up any shot crows just to the side of my main woody pattern.

I use about 30+ crows,nothing special about them,the pattern is always important but the hide is number 1.

always leave spaces in the decoys for them to land into and add the shot birds to increase the size

of the pattern.I always use a call because this sometimes turns the birds into the pattern

plus a battery operated flapper because you need movement to bring them in from distance.

Myself and Lewdan usually account for around a 1000 birds a season which starts from

spring planting to stubble in October.

the black ones (or buy a taxidermist fox will pull crows in from miles at this time of year)

Thanks guys.... i'm just doing the research on what type of equipment to buy. I have bought a caller (blown one) i have a hide on the way but if any one has got or knows of a good supplier of decoys that would be a real help.

Have a look at the fud decoys, havnt tried them my self yet but they look good,There was a topic on here last week,some one put up pictures of pigeons,it was hard to tell the birds from the decoys.
