micky 3,325
I was out yesterday setting a few snares,i set 9 down one side of the hedge and three on the other side .When i checked this morning it was blowing a gale ,onto the side where i had set the 9 also there was a good frost, there was no catch in the 9 ,but as i crossed to the leeward side of the hedge the flock of crows and magpies told me ,i had a catch,of the three snares two had parts of rabbits around them ,and one snare and its catch was missing alltogether ,the odd thing was ,the two sets of rabbit remains had well formed young rabbits among them ,i would have thought that these would have been one of the first things to have been eaten ,but , they had been disgarded, along with the rest of bowels ,and contents.
