Coat Type

Hey,

 

Basically, My missus HATES long haired dogs, her sister has got a long haired German Shepherd X Collie end he moults like hell! Whenever we go round, he rubs against your leg and leaves a coat of hair behind on your trousers.

 

Granted, he needs a damn good brush!

 

But still, since them having this dog, she dislikes anything with long hair.

 

My beddy/whip is only 1/4 beddy so is smooth haired. But i am thinking about something with maybe wheaton/deerhound/collie in the mix next time and would like a rough haired dog.

 

Would you get this kind of problem with a rough coated lurcher? Something with collie or deerhound in it?

 

I get the impression that they are more wire-haired than long and moulty.

my uncle has got a deerhound cross and that aint to bad but does still cast its coat

the only tip i can give is get a dark coloured dog(they all lose the hair) as you don't see it so bad.

i have a prt who you would think is bald by the ammount of hair in the car and tumble dryer.

 

he has spent so much time in the brambles his coat is now smooth,still got hair all over though

i got a rough coated bitch and she is no bother with moltin hair , i brush her regular so i reckon that helps . but she s not a problem, my missus hates her says she hates hairy dogs , but i told her its me or the dog !! lol

If you keep lurchers only for work their coat or hair shouldn't matter.I hear poodles dont moult,might suit ya.

What a load of shit. Theres no point in him getting a dog that dont suit his lifestyle aka the missus... it would only cause grief for him and the dog. Does that meen he shouldnt have a lurcher?
