The mk 1 is a great bit of kit but deben dont fix them anymore and is hard to be fixed as they were smart enough to score of the numbers on some of the chips on the chip circuit making it hard for to be fixed by yourself, the thing i like about them is it will pick up any collar the mk 2 and mk 3 wont, this i see as a bit of a shame.

The plus side is the money they fetch on ebay just seems to go up so even spares or repair with working collar think you might get £65 plus and be able to put towards a mk 3

I have about 5 of the Mk1 units all in some state of repair. Deben has told me that they have not supported the Mk1 now for 6 years and they cannot tell me what the IC's are inside the box, yeah right. All parts for the Mk1 are available, resistors, capacitors, the 2 transistor types, the diode, might struggle a bit with the variable resistor in the same size as used but others are easily available but may have to be fitted in a new box? So after all that whats the IC numbers used? Somebody somewhere must have a mark 1 with the numbers not scratched off or they know someone who used to service these units and can tell us the IC's used? The units I have are my Father In Laws and I am hoping to fix them for him? if anyone has any further info then let me know? I am in Leeds so if I get the info I require I may be able to repair these units for anyone. Cheers Bill.
