Hannah4181 260
I feed them whole and intact, mine like them best still warm! I worm every 6 weeks and have never had a problem. just out of interest do you not have any " self service" meals while out lamping or "in the car accidents"? some thing thats always bothered me about feeding game. i cook the rabbit before feeding to try and avoid this. allthough mine are still pups really (10 and 5 months). i'm sure they would get stuck in to it and love it. always been a biy carefull with it i suppose waidmann My dogs are not hard core workers, they all work and the lurcher gets out on the lamp a couple of times a week during the season. I live in the middle of farm land so from 7 weeks the pups see game daily and have always been around rabbits, i just think they aren't that bothered by it, in the sense that i think they just are totally de sensitised to them. I have never had a problem with them helping themselves, the lurcher is still only 20 mths and on a couple of ferreting trips has picked up dead rabbits and tried to walk off with them, but never attempted to eat them. Also once told thats it he won't touch them again. His retrieve of live game is perfect, so in that sense it hasn't effected him. Its personal preference, if your wanting a 100%, work all the time lamp dog then maybe my method is not ideal?? Im sure someone on here with more experience in the working sense will offer the answer.

Im sure someone on here with more experience in the working sense will offer the answer. my mate who feeds whole has no trouble with retrieve either,i suppose it will make no difference if the dog is well trained and the bond is there in the first place. mine are not hard core workers either i go out three or four times a week. just like to keep them on top form and do the best i can for them, whole rabbit IS as nature intended so can't be bad can it?? as for "more experiance in the working sense" i have read a few replies of yours and you seem to be clued up pretty much with your dogs and that will do for me cheers waidmann
