kill um with crisps 7
First thing you wanna do mate is find a butcher to get the offcuts from. After that just play it by ear. You wont go far wrong so long as the meat isnt left out to go bad.
Gaz_1989 9,539
Ive got that sorted mate, i worked in the local butchers when i left school for 12 months and im still on good terms with the boss so he would sort me out im sure. How much do you pay for the bulk of the items? Is most of it stuff what is no use to the butchers? ie breast of lamb, chicken carcass, beef bones, etc? Gaz
kill um with crisps 7
What i get from the butchers which is most of it, i dont pay for. Its all the offcuts where hese done some boning out so he either gets rid of it via me or licensed waste.

Water Badger 26
so how early can you potentialy start a dog on this diet?
kill um with crisps 7
so how early can you potentialy start a dog on this diet? I collected my pup at the age of 6 weeks and hese been on the barf diet ever since. With meat and bones laying about for the adult dogs it would be impracticle to keep him away from it and he certainly does like it. As soon as i got him home he grabbed a lump of meat and trotted off into a corner with it! Lol! Although to make sure he gets everything a pup needs he is still on 50% beta puppy as well along with the weetabix, powdered kiddies milk and tins of sardines/tuna. Born Hunter 17,751
I second what hannah said, dont over think it. Lean meat, animal fat and meaty bones are the important parts. Offal and veg etc just perfect it.
Gaz_1989 9,539
Thanks again for the further replies. Kill um with crisps - You say your pup is on beta puppy, weetabix etc as well as BARF? How important is this? Has anyone put a pup straight onto BARF and just BARF? And can a 6 week old pup handle the bones okay? Chicken Carcass, Rack of lamb etc? Thanks Gaz
kill um with crisps 7
When i was getting him jabbed i told the vet what he was eating and the vet told me that i still should include some proper puppy food as meat etc doesnt contain enough calcium or phosphorus which a pup needs to grow properly. Yeah he happily crunches through the smaller bones and chews on the ones he cant crunch through. Even if the vet hadnt told me that though i still would give him SOME puppy food and certainly the weetabix, kiddies powdered milk and fish mixture. They all get that. Look at this way, if you got to eat a nice juicy steak you would love it............if you got a nice juicy steak put in front of you every day you would get bored shitless with it. Gaz_1989 9,539
Thanks 'Kill Um' and nice photos! Looks like hes enjoying that. How long do you think you will feed dry food as well as BARF for? Just while hes a pup or forever? Do people feed pups on just BARF and do they do just as well? I really want to get away from ANY dry dog food if i can. Thanks Gaz
