laptop display

If the task-bar is hidden, point to where you last saw it to show it again. If you can't remember where you last saw it, try pointing to the bottom of the desktop first, and then to the sides or top of the desktop, if necessary. You might need to move the pointer almost off the desktop to show the task-bar.

Move the pointer over a blank area of the task-bar e.g. an area with no icons and click on your right mouse button. On the menu that appears click on the properties button. It can be tricky from here as I am unsure which Windows you are using if you are using Windows at all but you are looking to uncheck the Auto-hide the task-bar check box under where it says Task-bar appearance and then click on the OK button.

This should stop your task bar from auto hiding itself an messing up your display.

Hope this helps

cheers Callum
