Latest pile of shit from westminster

Recommended Posts

This is about the latest from westminster that they want to make it compulsory for all dogs to be insured against attacking people, be neutered and microchipped.

I think its unneccassery, unworkable and yet another "knee jerk" reaction by the govornment in a transparent attempt to get the public on side prior to an election by appearing tough on so called "status" or "attack" dogs. I also think its a "back door" attack on us people who work our dogs in the countryside.

I agree it's a kneejerk reaction, but to be fair they haven't said what they are definitely going to do, this is just a suggestion, and they are talking about microchipping and compulsory insurance, not neutering as far as I know.

My dog is microchipped in case he gets nicked and insured because vet bills are so outrageous, so there's nothing there that feels like an attack on me.

I think the best insurance against injury BY the dog is correct training. And the premiums for us will be sky high because the insurance companies will say "well its a dog thats purpose in life is to chase, catch and kill things, its an attack dog and you will pay for the privellidge of owning it".

Most pet insurance includes a third party provision, for example if your dog runs in the road and causes an accident you should be covered for any damage caused.

I take your point about more unenforceable legislation, but I understand why they want to do it. There are a lot of knobheads out there with potentially dangerous breeds who use them as weapons, and it's getting more common.

Your right, there are a lot of shellsuit wearing, base ball cap on the wrong way idiots out there keeping what i call "4 legged penis extensions"! Trouble is they aint interested in obeying the law so it wont affect them what laws get introduced. Same as after hungerford handguns got banned, it didnt do one bloody thing to stop criminals but it made the govornment look good in the eyes of the uninformed public and they all slapped each other on the back over it and had some more champagne.

from what i heard it will also give the police the power to stop you when you are out and about with your dogs and they can demand to see proof of insurance and of dog being chipped, also if your dogs are compailned about by someone then the police will automaticaly charge you ie make owning your dogs difficult..this is not just to stop so called dog weapons but another way for labour to have a go at the hunting set...

Another waste of Parlimentry time and Public Funding.

Why should lawabiding people be hit in the pocket again having to insure dogs.

I do believe the so called Dangerouse dogs Act was a knee jerk bullshit law that obviously aint working.

The knowlagable lawabiding Bull Type owners got out and Your young chav or Divvys kept them breeding shite to shite producing unsound , unstable dogs that in their hands are Dangerous.

The Dangerouse dogs Act should be amended along the lines of a Shotgun Certificate.

Pass a Police check and if your deemed safe to own a pit bull or bull type you can so long as its insured , microchipped and registered.

If the dog registered to you and in your care does something wrong you feel the force of the law.

Anyone owning a bull type with out a licence gets jail time the same as a unlicenced Gun owner.

The Country is definatly becoming more and more of a Police Nanny state and our God given Freedoms taken away on a daily basis.

Nothing will change till people say enoughs , enough.

iam from scotland but now live in the south of ireland, the hunting/gun laws over here are more relaxed,i think the government over here see it as it is,a centuries old way of life, ffs why fix something that aint broken, hmm.gif maxhardcore is right ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

all this talk of insurance is just more shite, basically it's the same as uninsured driver's, certain people will not go along with it if they get caught it'll just mean disposable dog's (bred cheap, used and abused until they get caught) then it'll be the same as a car they'll just walk away from it as it stand's them at next to nothing (just like the cheap uninsured motors on the road) which will in turn mean more puppy pedlars breeding all year round :censored:

atb natter

it's gonna get to the point where genuine people won't be able to afford a dog.........

exactly right, all these idiots that cause the bother will just say that the dogs not there's or ive just found it wandering the street, then it will be a case of proving rightful ownership.microchipping will only be any good if the details are kept up to date by the owner.will these scumbags keep the details up to date i think not. so if the dog has been passed on from pillar to post and attacks someone will that mean its the 1st registered owner thats prosecuted or will it be the 2nd or 10th person that the dogs been passed on to.

aye mate and once the dog's have been passed on your relying on these idiot's HONESTY, and as we all know when their dog has had ago at another dog or person they will do the right thing and hand themselves in :whistling: . basically those of us responsible enough to put time effort and training into or workers/pets are now just going to be paying even more for the privelage (just like car insurance)

atb natter

(incase no one noticed car insurance is my personal pain in the arse :icon_redface: )

The thing is more Irish people live in the countryside, we've only got a few cities and none of them are big by British standards.
