upperlane2 4
Cheers lads im looking into getting one but cant find a left handed one cheers again Walshy would you not consider th .204 a bit more rangey and accurate on foxey with a lighter bullet 32g vmax statistics like 200yds dead centre 300yds 41/2" drop Quote Link to post
mattydski 560
The 204 is a better cartridge, for sure. But its also more expensive too shoot. I can have whatever I need on my ticket, but I chose Hornet because of its simplicity and cheapness to shoot. I went through the same decision making process, but it kept coming back to being able to afford to shoot it. I must of popped off 20-30 rounds yesterday, between bunnines and a zero check.... I am not feeling in the slightest bit guilty about the cost 25p a bang is hard to beat. If I need ought bigger I use my .243.. Its just so much fun to shoot! Quote Link to post
walshy0988 28
ive got a 243 myself and my mate shoots a 204 i thought about the hornet before i got a 17hmr but it wasnt big enogh for me theres more good than bad pionts for the hornet so im guna put in for a variation. mattydski 560
ive just got a cz brno 22hornet so still getting the feel of it , by the way i will be useing factory loads in it can any one recommend a good factory load for it If you can reload, try and do so. The accuracy is just so much better. Cost can not be compared either. Hornady 35gr vmax factory are ok'ish! but £21 for 25 rounds??? I'd rather chew tinfoil!! Quote Link to post
ace32 4
well just rec my new scope mounts,so will put new scope on tonight, best shot so far is 137 yds,in horrendous wind, blew the bullet over a foot to the r/h side, once sussed, peeled 4 off no bother, cracking little toy,new scope will open up the range,35g v max, home loads with 12.5 gr lil gun, lethal combination, back to have a play tomorrow, loveing it,is set to become my use all the time, rifle ,get one you wont regret it,but you will have to reload,a lot cheaper, and you do tend to keep popping another mag through her,ok,ian Quote Link to post
andyf 144
hi just wondering who shoots a 22 hornet ive been thinking of geting one just wanted to know the pros and cons of them ie; bullet price and availability and are do they come left handed? any info would be great Walshy OK I'm a 'lefty' to, I have two left hand bolts and a Ruger number 1, I think you will struggle to find a LH bolt action Hornet, but in .223 will be easy, as Remington Ruger and Browning all make LH bolt variants in most of their models and all make .223. Have a look at the Ruger No 1 if your not familiar, single shot with a martini type under lever, mine's a 22.250 varmint, excellent all round, and I think it's still made or at least used to be made in Hornet? The Hornet is quite a mild round so a second hand one should be perfectly fine. AndyF Quote Link to post
