Lewdan 17
hi just wondering who shoots a 22 hornet ive been thinking of geting one just wanted to know the pros and cons of them ie; bullet price and availability and are do they come left handed? any info would be great Walshy Hi mate , i use a ruger 77/22 K hornet, Excellent calibre good on fox out to 200yds max, rabbits further if you can hit them :icon_redface:cheap and easy to reload ( factory ammo is a bit pricey )no recoil to speak of, very quiet when decent mod is fitted. i use 40 grain blitz kings and 13 grain Lil-gun powder & get 3000FT/sec which is not bad for the little case. Max load for my K hornet is 13.5 gn lil-gun which is 3150 Ft /sec Very underated calibre which is recently having a bit of a revival Hope this helps LD Quote Link to post
clint 45
22 hornet superb claibre, my rifle go everywhere in truck with me. I shoot everything, 100-200yds max, I load with 40 gr soft head bullet. I fill the fridge, pigeon,goose,rabbit,hare..& fox i burn (smelly bstd) . to keep clean ,use pull rope every 20/25 shot, to keep very very accurate. Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
35gr vmax for me, in my CZ527 - shoots under half inch pretty regularly at 100 with that - lovely little rifle. Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
It's not popular anymore!!! I am convinced this is more to do with marketing (other calibres) than technology. The Hornet has a lot going for it and rifles can be found at "reasonable" prices. Ammo is not always easy to find so Home Brews can be a good idea. Noise and power wise it sits well between my WMR and .223, and the idea keeps coming into my head to look at one, but at the moment I seem to be coping without...but...Never say never!!
