Pheasant Tail 0
Had a great day today as been granted permission to shoot at a local animal feeds supplier based on a farm with a large rabbit warren and a major rat problem. Have been trying to gain a new permission for ages since a guy with a rimfire has been allowed onto the golf club my friend Nick and I shoot on, we were taking rabbits for the pot on a regular basis with our non-fac air rifles but the guy with the rimfire has wiped them out! The rabbits that are left are very lamp shy. It's been really hard finding a new shoot but this one looks really promising, the owner has already mentioned lots of further land with scope for Rabbits & Pigeon. Hopefully it won't be too long before I can restock the freezer I'm so pleased to secure this shoot I've treated myself to a new BSA Scorpion .177 with tactical stock for the rough work around the farm controlling those rats! Pheasant Tail 0
How is the scorpion? You like it? All the best Freddy First impressions are good, just fitted a silencer, spare sling and JSR 6x32 Mini IR Scope, will be off to my local club in the morning to zero in and put a few pellets through it Just need to figure out how to fit a lamp now though as the 6x32 mini scope has no space for a standard scope mount Quote Link to post

Pheasant Tail 0
Popped down to the new permission for a couple of hours on monday evening to get an idea of what we're up against. Rats were very skitish not venturing out from under the pallets of feed or away from the chicken feeders which made a safe shot very difficult, we've decided the only way forward is to bait a few spots and draw the little blighters into the open. I did manage to bag one rat which decided to venture out from under the pallets to drink from a muddy puddle. Luckily for me Nick had gone for a wander to check out the rabbit warren and I got the only chance of the evening for a clear shot at a rat, which I was very happy to tell him on his return. The rabbits were very lamp shy on the night but we did see a charlie working his way through just before we got down to the warren which may have had them on edge. We're planning a dusk raid on the rabbits in the near future. Will update next week when we've had chance to put some bait out for the rats and have another go. Quote Link to post

Pheasant Tail 0
Off to give the rats another headache tomorrow evening, baiting plan in action, so we should hopefully have a little more success this time around. Have been given another number this week for a guy who's desperate for someone to sort out a rabbit problem at his stables, think I'd best ring tomorrow and strike while the irons hot!
