hogdog you have never owned a working dog in your life fact, you own a stafford and now a Ingles bull and thats it. Everyone has to start somewhere but when you do it take years of trial and error so all the dog books in the world or emails to lads that know someone who knows someone that done a bit mean f**k all.

I own a litter sister to that dog of yours and they are coming into 2yrs soon and as far as im concerned its done f**k all. I took her out the arse end of last season just to have a look but knew straight away she wasnt mature enough to do what I wanted. I have worked terriers, lurchers and kept some well bed staffords over the years but I know through experience that some dogs mature quicker than others so I can not come on a hunting forum saying that they are this and that because its still early days. There is only one man on here who can say that at the moment as he has been breeding them for good while so you or who ever really cant say nothing yet because that litter are not tested ( I dont mean Rabbits Hogdog or bits of wood)

I told the lad who bred it what I wanted it for and upto now im happy with her so only time will tell. Hogdog this is a hunting forum not an athletic dog forum, you can talk shit on them all day long but its graft on her son that lads are interested with not quotes out of some book

I'm enjoying the discussion too, it makes a nice change to the bickering that normally goes on here.

The Bull Terrier does have a history of fighting but I personally don't class it as a fighting Dog, the fact that it was used and proved itself adequately in the pit proves that it was a versatile breed and that's what I think Hinks was trying to achieve. For the same reason I don't think that it was meant to be an "out and out hunting Dog" either.

I didn't actually buy him as a hunting Dog, I bought him solely to compete in athletic competitions and all being well he'll be competing at a bikejoring (aka 'Husky race') in the autumn. The fact that he's shown massive hunting instinct/ability has lead me down the path of doing a bit of lamping with him.

I dont know where I get these assumptions from, forgive me for getting it wrong

Hang on a minute, you're saying that you took her out once at less than a year old and you haven't done anything with her since and you've got the cheek to tell me about graft?

My Dog grafts most days of the week but as you don't know me you wouldn't know anything about that.

As usual getting it wrong again, where does it say she went out once (took her out the arse end of the season) does not mean that. She has been out plenty and seen plenty but IMO is is not ready for what I have planned for her, I can carry this on all night I know what I want from my dogs and It aint micky mouse rabbits so read your posts as Im only repeating what you have put earlier
