Gitano 17
Cheers for the information pongopalmer. Is your mate intentionally breeding them like this or was your boy just accidentally lighter boned and more athletic than the modern day EBT? Either way, I like the look of the dog and would be interested in getting something similar myself. Link to post

Either way, I like the look of the dog and would be interested in getting something similar myself. i have always excercised him very well , an try not to over feed him wich i think a lot ov English Bull Terrier owners do :piggy: witch i recon helps aloot in his fitness levels, :showoff:.. he does inherit a lot ov his look an build from his sire but my mate does not hunt am sure my dog is the only puppy ever worked from this line ov English Bull Terriers thanks alot mate for your intrest in him Link to post

Mrs A.R.D 53
Im a fan of the EBT although i dont own one. i personaly like the old Hinks type, its more athletic than the kc type and bred for ability rather than strange looks lol. i searched the net for info on Hinks type and found some good pics and they look alot differant to the kc even thought they are fundamentaly the same thing. atb mrs A.R.D Edited August 18, 2010 by Mrs A.R.D Link to post
Raymond 618
I had English bulls 20 years ago.Didnt do much with them. The next door neighbour was littered with rats. I asked could I let the bitch in to see what she would do. She was about 2. She went from being a pet to a different dog.You would think she was ratting since she was a pup. Never tried her on anything else. She was KC aswell. Back then to me there was the really heavy built English Bulls.I called these Gabour type. The spelling might be wrong. The longer leaner, leggier type with the straighter nose we called the Dalmation type as it lent towards the dalmation in them. I had a bridle and white fella. He had a crufts winner on his KC papers. He was very thick, but in a way that he could take alot of stick. He had very high drive in him. He would take on an elephant, very game. Good luck with your bulls Link to post
judge2010 196
nice dogs but easier to find a better bred staff in my opinion. Link to post

Bosun11 537
When I was a kid i had a bull terrier, no, our house had a bull terrier, as he was the family dog. I worked him no different than my terriers and luchers, if i was out, he was out. He had as good a nose as ANY dog i've seen, marked and drew foxes, even dug him out a few times! Hard as fecking nails, he took some stick .. Superb marker of rats and would dig like a fiend to get 'em. Pheasant wild, he'd hunt 'em up and nail 'em on the seat or take off. Basically he hunted everything I did and had, for his type, great success! Would I buy one 'as a working dog'... Not a fecking chance!!! His faults were many, and i'd rather remember him for the good times, i loved that dog! Why pay that money on 'a gamble', they are NOT working dogs, from whatever line! If you have one as a pet, and you fancy having a dabble with it in the field, great stuff, it's loads of fun BUT if you want sommat serious, go for an already made 'working' bull type, or better still, a good line of working terrier! 1 Link to post

It's quite funny, but if you have a dog that is so keen, you will realise what the possibilitys of a dog are, rather than a gun! Best of luck with him, good to know, though i wouldn't be too 'general' on this site, about what you hope to do with him in the future and i still stand by what i said about 'buying' one as a worker...
