wilson4347 5
One works up to 8 feet the other to 15 feet, they both do the same job, the 15 feet just has a wider locating band, Even my ferret understands this Quote Link to post

barni 4
the mk1 only works to a depth of 8ft... its the mk3 that works to a depth of 15ft, but how ever if u have a mk3 collor and a mk1 locator u will be able to locate ur ferret upto 15ft ... but if u have a mk3 locator and a mk1 collor u wouldnt find it at all... hope this helps ATB Danny how can you of an 8 ft box Quote Link to post
PETEWINN 5
No wander you are confused, I am by most of the replies and I know my stuff. The difference between a Mk1 15ft locator and a Mk1 8ft locator in laymans terms is purely the sticker on the wheel. If you use an 8ft collar with an 8ft sticker then its reads right. If you use a 15ft collar with an 15ft sticker then its reads right. If you use an 8ft collar with an 15ft sticker then you need to half the reading. If you use an 15ft collar with an 8ft sticker then you need to double the reading. If you use a Mk2 20ft collar or Mk3 16ft collar then the readings are all over the place. No easy way to estimate. Hope this clears up some of the confusion. Quote Link to post
