Phantom 631
Middle finger to squeeze the trigger? Reason I ask is because as some of you know, my trigger finger (on both hands) is fecked! My thumb on my right hand is also buggered and now I have three digits in bandages and the possibility of another three going the same way I'm desperate to get out and shoot but can possibly only use my middle finger. I will be shooting from a pod, so I'm thinking the gun should remain stable as I squeeze. Guess I should use the paper first to see what happens and come home if the grouping aint too good. othickman 6
I would say the trigger guard on a s200 is big enough to house both your fore finger and your middle, so I would suggest (provided they both fit) that you strap them tightly together so they in effect work as one, and as it will be the finger on the bottom that will do most of the pressure as its furthest from the axis it should be fine, plus you can get s200s to have nice light triggers. Freddy Watts 1
I used to know someone who shot with his middle finger. No idea why. I asked him once and he just said "it feels right". So I agree with the others as long as you have a good few shots first to get used to it should be no problem at all. Hope it goes well. Freddy Quote Link to post
jackinbox99 41
I wouldnt see any problem shooting using your middle finger. Ive done exactly that before in the past when ive hurt my trigger finger. Feels a bit strange for the first few shots, but you soon get used to it. Quote Link to post

My little brother lost most of his trigger finger in an accident when he was a kid.....and it never slowed him down any when it came to shooting with his middle finger.....the only issue he has is that if the trigger guard catches the stump when the gun recoils, it does tend to cut open the thinner skin that he has on the damaged end. But I originally thought that perhaps doing so with your forefinger resting on the stock above the trigger might be a bit painful on the tendoms, but it seems okay actually! But as has been said, your pull will be a little odd so you won't be that consistent to start, so yeah, practice beforehand but it shouldn't be too much of a difference as I just did a bit and got just off pellet on pellet in my 10 yard garden range Quote Link to post

Houses, Main roads, people walking dogs etc... and as my trigger is fairly light I dare not risk an accidental discharge in any direction, quite often I am shooting litterally 5-10 feet from a footpath 15 feet from the road. An accidental discharge could ruin things for me big time And BEFORE anyone starts whinging about the 50 FOOT RULE, most people who pass me only feet away know who I am and what I'm doing and don't complain, because they know I am safe. cunninghamb 2
Sorry to hear about your fingers mate, I can shoot fine with my middle finger, better with my index finger right enough but thats because thats the finger im used to shooting. Was reading Sporting Shooter magazine a while back and there was a write up on a champion clay shot who lost his index finger in an incident with hedgetrimmers, but he his middle finger as his trigger finger and shot, well obvisly fine Sorry for the spelling, it's rather late and I'm rather tired!
