Tis TM 8
I am delighted to announce that I have finally handed the equally split proceeds from The Hunting Life Girls Calendar 2010, to the two chosen charites - Lurcher Link and BADA. Its been an unforgettable experience from the start, and I would like to thank everyone for your help and encouragement in bringing this to fruition. In total we raised a MASSIVE £2109.24 I had just enough left to cater for some orders that came in from The Field mag, and its amazing to think that our Hunting Life girlies have even flown half way round the world to Australia!!! THANK YOU ALL

SNAP SHOT 194
Just too add that it could'a been alot higher, had there been better backing, but thanks to all who did contribute. but to say that the effort the girls put in has been unreal, you wouldn't believe the ammount of behind the scene's work to organising something like this, its a credit to their character and determination to see it finished through to the printed article... to all concerned in the shoot you should be real proud of what you have achieved.. lurcherlass 5
I'd like to say a huge THANK YOUon behalf of Lurcher Link to everyone concerned with these calendars - those who've put in all the hard work making them and those who've parted with their dosh in order to own one, :notworthy: We're full to bursting with dogs atm (I had 19in my house the other week as we just had nowhere else to put them ) and I'm constantly getting phone calls from stray pounds and members of the public who've either found a dog or need to give up their own dog for various reasons. We're entirely self-funded, so rely on donations as well as our adoption fees and a whopping great donation like this will really make a huge difference to us. Just to give you a flavour of what we do, these are most of the dogs we found homes for last year: http://www.onetruemedia.com/otm_site/view_shared?p=89e933142edce1c958281b&skin_id=601. As you can see there's everything from little Whippetty pups to hulking great Bull x's - we're not picky. If we can help out a Lurcher in need, we will......luckily we have a very good relationship with our vet So thank you all once again. you're stars LL

Tis TM 8
On behalf of Wendy Fox - BADA: Letter for the Hunting Life forum: To whom it may concern, The trustees and committee members of BADA-UK would like to thank everyone involved in the creation of "The Hunting Life" 2010 charity calendar. Our sincere gratitude goes to all those who donated items for the auction to raise funds for the printing of the calendar, the girls who were such great sports and posed so beautifully, Sam Clark of Farlap Photography who gave her time and waived all fees, and Toni and everyone involved in the organisation and administration. Our thanks also go to everyone who purchased a copy of the calendar which raised such considerable funds for BADA-UK and Lurcher Link. Being a self-funded charity of a lesser-known cause, funding is difficult to come by. The £1054.62 which the calendar raised for BADA-UK will help considerably to fund our exhibits this year at various shows; the first of which is the Scottish Game and Angling Show at the Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh, on the 6th-7th of March. These kinds of exhibits are hugely important in helping to raise awareness and teach bite-prevention methods and correct tick-removal techniques. The necessity for our attending is often demonstrated when a show visitor has had a 'Eureka' moment after visiting our stand and, as a result, they have sought medical attention for symptoms they had been suffering. There are many occasions when we have heard back from these people to say that they have been diagnosed with a tick-borne disease and it was because of the information we provided that they put two and two together. In fact, some of our most active volunteers have been introduced to BADA-UK this way. There are still a vast number of people who don't appreciate the risks that ticks pose and who are unknowingly using methods of tick removal which increase the risks of disease transmission. This money will help us to continue our work to educate. On behalf of all at BADA-UK, I thank you again and congratulate you all on such a successful project. Kind regard, Wendy Fox - Director / Chairperson.
