i heard ages ago that cooked bones are bad for dogs? if this is true why is this? many thanks Nicole.

Yes it is very true, when bones are cooked they splinter and shatter which can cause it to rip the throat or stomach lining, very very dangerous, no need in my opinion to give dogs cooked bones, they are 100% designed to eat raw

I am pretty sure the structure of the bone changes with the heat and becomes brittle and very sharp.

Don't feed the heavy weight- bearing bones, i.e. marrow bones, knuckle bones and femurs, as these bones are too dense and could cause tooth fractures.
