Hi to all i have a 16 week old beddy whip pup and after a walk he sits in his bed winpering and licking his pads somtimes even nibbling them i check them over cant find thorns or cuts i have even taken to just walking him on the golf course to avoid any sharps and still same complaints? I am a terrier man through and through and never owned a running dog any idears?

Hello and welcome mate, could even be the salt on the pavements causing the trouble try posting it in the lurcher section a few more guys should see it and answer it

Hi ya, Your dog will have stung his paws. When puppies are young they have very soft pads and they get irritated by nettles, thistles etc. The symptoms are just as you've described and sometimes with the addition of scratching bedding frantically.

 

He will grow out of it as his paws harden. The best thing for it is an anti hystermine cream . .. i use benadryl . . . available over the counter. Spread it on thinly and it should work within 10 mins. Others suggest Sudacream or calamine, but personally i found the benadryl by far the best product. :thumbs:

being new to all this forum stuff how do i post it in the Lurcher section i am obviously just dumb?

Obviously just dumb!! :laugh: If you go the main home page, then scroll down you will see all the different sections laid out, just click on the one you want. :thumbs:
