took the mrs pike fishing today

well i finished a painting job ive been doing for my best pals mum earlier than expected today so i returned home at 12 ish and the mrs was home from work and in bed she wasnt feeling very wel.be honest id already got my pike gear ready last night for a few sneaky hours today before she got home from work at 6pm

any how i managed tp pusuade her to come come along to brereton heath the local country park for an hrs pike fishing i packed my stove my bacon and eggs and all the gear in to her car on off we went we got thier around 2.30 pm the sun was blazing down the lake was flat calm it was a real grand day be fishing i set 2 rods up and she tried cast a bung out and i put mine in the desired spot we sat thier having a good chat cooking bacon and egg buttys and drinking coffee it was real nice then to my horror her bung went flying under she asked me what to do so i told her hit the fish she just looked at as if to sat what you on about jake anyway she sort of got the jist as to what i was on about and struck into a cracking double figured pike it took what seemed like half a day for her to land this fish but being fair it was ripping line of the real all the time she got the fish to the bank and i scooped it out with the landing net i couldnt believe it it was bigger than my own pb pike at 16.5 lb it may not look it in the pic but it was definatly bigger than mine i got a fortnight ago well hears the pic of it

she didnt dare touch it because of all the teeth so iam the 1 holding ity for the camara

It's always the bloody same mate!

 

I've fished for bass on the shore here in S.Pembs all my life. As soon as I was old enough to hold a rod, my dad had me climbing down all sorts of dodgy rock faces to get to the best fishing spots. My personal best stands at around the 5 lb mark.

 

Some local fella had his brother down for the weekend who'd never fished in his life. He took him to one of the least likely places here, and the jammy git only landed an 11lb bass on his second cast...

 

Made front page of the local rag!

 

 

Nice one mate, you'd best get out every weekend until you get a bigger one otherwise you'll never live it down!

Fair play misses ,ive been out today myself' as soon as i pulled up i could see the brown choc coloured river and just new it was going to be one of them day's until a JACK PIKE attacked my keep net with the live bait's in apart from that a LOAD OF SHITE!!!!!!!!!!

well done your lass, not abad first fish for anyone to catch, once took our lass night fishing and after a hour she packed in and called me a sad twat, she ended up in bivy and had afew tinnies, should of joined her realy cos all i ended up with was shit, ive asked her since if she fancied going again and you'll prob know the answer atb

nice pike mate, i just wish i could get my misses to turn up whilst im fishing. but she'll get to much dirt under her nails she says haha.

 

im hungry now from looking at the fry up time to cook me thinks.

first time i took my wife pike fishing ,sat her down and put a rod out just under the bank ,told her to sit there and lift the rod if the float goes under ,then shout me ,little did she know i put a real small grotty chunk of mackrel on ,hoping for her to sit there all day for nothing ,whill i fished further up the river in the better spots ,i only walked 10 yards ,she shouts , i let her get it in ,22lb 4ozs sods bloody law ,,that was her only pike fishing trip .
