If he's starting to work cover on his own already, then i'm sure before too long or over the warmer months he will put a rabbit up to chase. I'm not an expert but i think 5 months is still very young, however keen he is, he's a puppy still and i would be concentrating more on obedience, recall, socialising, stock breaking, retrieve, and all done in a playful manor.
