ihatealiens 0
Hi, i have two lurchers and am having terrible trouble with them in the car. they both drool loads within one mile then by five miles they are being sick. i think ive tried just about everything, ive tried herbal remedies, taking them on small trips slowing building the journey to longer trips, sitting them in the car not moving for upto 30 mins without it moving for a week then try an take em out! Nothing seems to work for em, i dont want to use tablets that sedate them as they are obviously gonna be working dogs. Im sick of cleaning the sick up and then the dogs not feeling to good so they wont work properly. If anyone has any tips then i would gladly take them on board and give em a try! PLEASE HELP!!!!!! Guest jt750
You could try feeding them in the car so they associate good things with a car ..failing that try putting them in the car sitting with them for around 5 mins and take them out do this for about 4/5 days ..then put them in the car start the engine and sit with them for about 5 mins ...then once they used to this after around 4/5 days put them in the car and drive around for around 5 mins then take them out ...increase this time over a couple of weeks and they'll get used to it ..also once the penny drops that when they get out of the car its lots of fun for them they'll be even better

Make sure you dont feed them before you go on an outing and get them used to going in the car even if your going to the shops!mine grew out of it by 12months.atb brian
