Fat-Ferret 857
The matches work for sure, but that pellet sounds feck all like a magpie! Quote Link to post
wrowmon 1
it would be enough to get them interested....i will now admit i use a film can with 3 ,6 mm ball bearings init ..if waiting in ambush and i see a magpie some way off will use the can for a few rattles then use the matches for closer work.... half the rabbit calls on the market don't sound like a rabbit but they work.. just saying don't knock it until you have had a go... Using a box of matches I know has worked but I'll be surprised if you would bring in a seasoned Magpie by shaking a few pellets in a plastic bottle ..... A pal used to sit his Redtail Hawk out on its Bow perch with a dead Rabbit to keep it occupied, retreat back to his hide and you watch this bring them in, not only Magpies all sorts of Corvids can't resist coming in dive bombing and landing in the trees squarking their unrest when a Hawks in the area ........ Phantom 631
I've used a tictac box with Milborough Caladonion pellets in (not much good for shooting them so had to find a use )to chat to the maggies. They work very well to get the maggies calling, but so far not managed to get one to come in close enough to feed an AA or FX to. Phantom Quote Link to post
