it is totaly illegal to fish any inland water using a speargun. (plus the water is a wee bit cold at the moment)

but i do hope this little baby will help me locate the big ladies when out on a boat.

i still have to catch them once they are located ;)

Thats right just because you can see them it doesn't mean you can catch them, but at least you know your in the right place  Good luck with that, they do take some getting used to.

happy days, today i recieved in the post absolutely free, by way of an apology from humminbird/geonav a http://store.humminbird.com/dyn_prodlist.php?k=307288

i got this becauce i ordered it from a site in the uk who then proceeded to mess me about for over a month. i got my money back from them and then sent a complaint to johnson outdoors/humminbird. they in turn decided to give it to me absolutely free along with a few free items of clothing & badges lol.

now all i need is a boat to put them on....

alright there nial, have had a fish finder for years, sad to say they won't guarantee you fish let alone big fish but what it will do is give you a good lay out of the bottom and increase your chances of a good catch,by the way they 2 ferrets you sold me have been bolting rabbits well, had 12 last sunday, cant wait to see them next season, atbthumbs.gif

A friend of mine puts his sea fishing boat on inland lakes for pike fishing during the winter and I asked him the same question, ie. can you spot then catch big fish? His reply was that it is only any use for mapping the bottom etc. and finding areas worth trying. Weed and other objects show up just like fish so spotting individual fish dosnt really happen.

That was just his answer and I dont know what model etc. he used and if it is relevant to the equippment you have.

Can knock your confidence i have found when using them as pure fish finders, My mate owns 1 and after a biteless 6 hrs on a crystal clear river trent we decided to have a map of the bottom and look for fish errrrrrrrr lets just say i packed the rods in and moved a few miles up river, but this was and still is a productive area.
