Cost of spaying ?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

general question about the cost of:

spaying a jill?,

vasectomising a hob?,

and "jill jabs" to bring a jill out of season ?

I realise it will vary from vet to vet, and probably from different areas

but just wondering what the going rate was?

cheers, Tedward.

Down here in Devon....

Our vet charges,,

£3.82 for Jill Jab plus £13.00 Consulut.. However if you're having more than one jill jabbed you only pay the single consult fee.. which can work out reasonable if you have several jills in season.

£35.00 For Castration

£37.50 for Vasectomy

£40.00 for Spay

All includes: surgery, all meds, post op care, 3 day checkup and emergency treatment between op and check up should there be surgery related problems.

Personally they do such a very Neat and tidy job of it .. i'd pay much more... a good vet is worth their weight in gold..

Many thanks,

I've got a mate who's just been made redundant, so PDSA could well be the way forward,

cheers, Tedward.

PDSA is a good option, but when i was out of work & had to use them they wanted to know if they were used for rabbiting, good job i was thinking on my feet & said they were only pets because otherwise they would have classed them as 'livestock' for some unknown reason & refused me!
