zap 4
the quarry will be owned by someone and they will find out who and then probably try doing your brother for poaching Quote Link to post

kill um with crisps 7
Rabbits ARE legal but you DO need permission from the landowner. You say the quarry isnt owned by anyone but im pretty sure it IS owned by someone, maybe the local council, maybe "the people" as all land is owned by SOMEONE. Hunting without permission is poaching, simples. The only thing you can argue as far as i can see is that he was just walking the dogs and they happened to either catch or better still just find the rabbits already dead. If it was just one rabbit i would if said they disturbed a fox just after a catch but that aint gonna happen 4 - 5 times in one walk! Lol! Shame to leave um being that were in the middle of a credit crunch so he took um home. Now...............if the dogs happened to of caught the rabbits they must of been off their leads and that in the eyes of the law means they were out of control so best say they just found them. I wish you all the best with it mate. Let us know how it goes. Quote Link to post

shaun dee 7
i think its mainly because before i got my dogs i used to have motorbikes and go up the quarry on them witch i think is illegal and since then they no my brother for doing the same so they try and nab at us for anything so its a bit of my own fault really.shaun Edited February 25, 2010 by shaun dee Quote Link to post
BI9JOHNNY 25
it is quite rare for a court or cps to waste too much time on this these days as they get slated for it ...however if you have the fluffy bunny brigade at the back of them pushing for animal cruelty and so on then it can get messy ...... check with the council by-laws as some have a covenent hidden away saying daft things like each man can take one for the pot but not on a sunday on council land or the such like....our council designates one person to be the hare catcher of the parish which is amazing as no one ever apply's to do it and ther are no blasted hares in this concrete jungle anyway ....good luck remember clarissa dixon wright of two fat ladies exercised her right to move her flock of sheep over london bridge a few years back.... an old london covenant thingy Quote Link to post

CorkyJohn 808
The coppers are arseholes but it does help if you have an idea of the laws you intend to break in the 1st place. Complete stupidity carrying the evidence home if you've been poaching Quote Link to post
shaun dee 7
he didnt know it was poaching if it was poaching there just knoobs.shaun Quote Link to post

waidmann 105
if they did not "pick him up" at the quarry how can they know where he got them?( the fact that he was at the quarry cannot be taken as fact that he "poached" them there,if he had no permision to be there thats what it is) and so not being able to say where he got them,no one(a specific land owner) can prosecute him for poaching. they can do him for killing the rabbits without reasonable grounds, but i wouln't tell them that good luck.
