Guest jt750
Will the tories repeal the hunting ban ..yes..will it be successful ..no... why because regardless of what you think its money that runs this country and as the old money (which supported hunting in all its forms ) and the new money (nouveau riche with perfect world ideals) balance has shifted to the latter and it is these people who will keep it banned. Also if is agreed that the law needs to be repealed do you think they will let us carry on as before ..wake up and smell the coffee ...they won't ..think on guys the way this country is going what will they do ..license everything and make the penalties harsher Quote Link to post
boyo 1,398
i voted labour all my life untill a few years ago never again even stopped a mate who is a labour councilor coming down my path in election and told him why. went on all the marches and a lot more wrote over 50 letters to mps to let them know how i feel also had a long drawn out argument with a anti in our local paper which went on for months people were buying the paper just to read the argument which he built on lies which i proved in the paper.the bloody battle in london proved if nothing else how much hunting means to the people of this country and to those who say none of it made a differance your wrong if nothing else it nmade the gocverment wary and sit up and take notice and showed how many there are of us and to the ones that didnt go on the march for no good reason other than they couldnt make the effort [sHAME ON YOU] and to the ones that say the countryside alliance are a shambles remember their all we have shouting our corner .and also remember there was the real countryside alliance when the going got tough they are always there ready to start back up if need be . poacher3161 1,766
The tories have already lost millions of potential votes by proposing a free vote on the issue if they get in power Quote Link to post
events co-ordinator 353
In Scotland a lot of people fought against the Watson bill, a lot of people didnt fight against it. The ones that did fight against it got a lot more out of it than the ones that sat in the pub and said they'll never stop us going out with our lurchers. If you don't want to vote fine you dont deserve an opinion but dont try to put people off that are prepared to change things contact vote ok they will help you to help the nearest politician that supports repeal. Malt 379
The Conservatives will give a free vote, its upto your MP after that, so take care who you vote for. I will vote Conservative, as its the only chance we have. I am from a Labour family, but never in Labours history have they treated the "working" man so badly, and put in place so many bad laws, and wrecked this country. I did the marches, and was on two Countrysports action groups, and i covered anti-hunting letters in the local press. My Labour MP was one of the most vocal in support for the ban in the first place. This place has always been marginal between the Tories and Labour, we've got a certain Mr Simon Hart standing for the Tories in the next election.. My beliefs will not allow me to vote for him personally, but I reckon he'll get in.. Quote Link to post
events co-ordinator 353
If you don't vote for Simon and he misses by a couple of votes how will you square that with views on hunting bite the bullet get a hunting man in. Quote Link to post
Night_Runner 0
I say leave it be, Leave it how it is,, Might be banned? But never stopped us going out did it? All bringing it back into the public eye will be more stress on us, they will make different laws, different penalties and f**k us more. Personly im happy as it is now. Quote Link to post
Gin 498
Poacher,- i think your wrong , the tories have not lost millions of votes by offering a free vote. The public could not care less about it. The tories will gain millions of votes by it, as half a million people were on the march, and it could have been 10 times that if everyone involved had bothered to go. I know so called "famous names" in the dog world who said to me it was a waste of time and they did not like London, so did not go. Quote Link to post
man who speak truth 16
get real hunting with dogs is finished, do you honestly believe that the tories will overturn the ban if they get in? just suppose they do get in, then after 4 years labor get elected are they going to ban it again?, i will be voting for the tories by the way Quote Link to post

I dont support any Party in goverment, Im a free man ill do what i want to do untill im stopped. Quote Link to post

I can only speak of my area of s.yorks were letters have appeared in the local rag obviously by labour members and antis saying a vote for tory will bring hunting back. You are right the average man in the street dosent give a dam about the hunting ban.But most people think their are more important issues to vote labour out on and [bANNED TEXT] the country is on its knees and cameron brought the anouncment out about a free vote a lot thought he was bringing this before more important issues faceing the country.atb dell Quote Link to post
waidmann 105
the ban being lifted for mounted packs alone i find unlikely. what of the foot packs who are very effective in fox controll? if iy is humane to kill a fox with hounds how can it not be humane to kill it with a lurcher?(the same for the hare). as long as the people who vote suffer from "bambi syndrome" all hunting will be messed about with by organisations who have not the foggyest what they are talking about and humanise the quarry to appeal to the "disney minded public", who are quite able to oversee the hell that most animals bred on an industrial scale go through untill they get to the slaughter house but are unaware of the services rendered to farmers from "bloodthirsty handlers of hounds and gun toting mindless idiots who blast at everything they see" saving millions in crop damage, improving the ecosystems and helping alot more wildlife than "game species". it can make you sick. the organisations we join to represent us should be putting themselves into the public eye and PROMOTING the sport instead of defending it,(the best form of defence being...............) in a half comitted manner. hugh fernley whittingstall and gorden ramsey have done more for OUR sport than basc, sasc etc(in the public eye,on tv where most of the "anti" information seems to be propogated by the likes of john craven ) rant over, waidmann Quote Link to post
