If there wasn't a ban the first thing i would be doing would be to buy myself a nice strong bullx for the foxes, great sport. Wouldn't risk losing my license to do it know though.

i have a bullx too which is still a pup. the plan is to take him everywhere(as with the terrier). often we are out rabbiting an come across the red ones,some drop dead and some run on to die its those i would have the dog bring to a quicker end and retrieve.the terrier is very keen to do the same but limited in size

 

it happens when bolting them too,theycan roll and run on(nothing more enfuryating is there?). a quick dog will catch or bring to ground again where he can be dug to and dispatched humanely. a good dog helps alot imho.

in the past i have just had a Gundog and just had a Lurcher, i now have both and love the vairiation of sport i can do.

It will do the job much faster and with out much hassle. Better for the controlling of pest IMO, although i do have a dog but i think its more of a hobby to see the dog run than pest control.

i use both i shoot rabbits with the rimfire and the lurcher brings the back and its also nice to see the dog run and catch a rabbit

GUNS & LURCHERS MAKE A TEAM

a good retrieving lurcher makes a good tracker out with the rifle they can spot foxes miles before u can theres to much them and us if u dont try one ull never know how versitle a lurcher can be ATB

I might give up a couple of my guns for a Lurcher. If you are looking to trade. But give up my guns all together? No.
