Hannah4181 260
Theres a few threads on this . . . Basically the pup should grow out of it . . . . . In the mean time, I'd feed it in the car for a few days with the engine running but the car stationary. then lock it in the car for 5/10 mins with treats spread out all over the boot/back seat . . . . try to get it to focus on the food and not the fact he's in the car . . . . . . again with the engine running. Then start with really really small journeys, lots of praise and treats, and just build up the time and distance. Quote Link to post
BI9JOHNNY 25
i have had pups do this a few times mate the trick is put them in a box so as they cannot move around much.... they quickly learn to hold themselves against the box side and start with little trips and build up..... had a springer who was sick and ended up travelling up and down the country in the boot he loved it Quote Link to post
mixxymo 0
Hi, had this with my cocker pup for weeks, its was terrified of goin anywere nere the car and once in would start frothing and stuff coming out of both ends within a minute of driving, I did as already suggested with feeding in the car-- let them see their food in the bowl then they will probably follow you and let them see you put it in the car and then put them to eat it, I did this for a few days and also just sat the pup in the car standing near it building up to starting engine up etc, It is something that they do grow out of especially once they realise that going in there means something good, walk, play training whatever But I couldnt wait for mine to grow out of it cause everytime she went in the car I would have to bath her and clean out the boot of my car which wasnt a pleasant sight  Shes soon forgotton all about it now though and heads straight for the car once I let her out the kennel, Good luck sure you will sort it Yvonne Quote Link to post
