wots the best fox caller

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have an opinion on which is the best foxcaller. I've tried loads of the plastic mouth callers and haven't really found a consistently good one. Any ideas??

If you are lamping from a vehicle then a bit of polysterine( wet it with your tongue) and squeak it down the window, works a treat! Deadly at cub time.

This sure does work well esspecialy at cub time as trailler says.I've tryed most types of callers over the years and always go back to squeeking on the back of my hand or my thumb nail.It takes alot of practice to get the different calls right but I find it most consistant when you get it right.

i use a wham whistle and it is deadly at the begining of the harvest through to winter they then seem to have other things on there mind but it will still bring them in on a dark and slightly windy night on occasions ive had to shout and clap hands to stop them running to close to me

From my slim experience in calling foxes - anything commercial tends to be much less effective . Nearly all my successful squeakings have been done on the back of my hand.

yeah i'm the same the hand is the way forward! tried loads of calls and found my hand to be the best!!
