i was wondering if anyone has been out many times in total darkness i dont just mean a very dark and black night but the night when if you hold your hand or fingers a inch from your face you cannot see it in all the years ive had dogs and ive had them all my life i can only ever remember being out on a night like this twice ever and it is quite frightening if you are on strange land especially if your not supposed to be there as well .when i say frightening i mean not being able to see where or what your walking into and it is a strange experience to be out on a night like this.

yes i can boyo, up those dales can be very dark, most of my permision aint that dark but up around arncliffe 20 year ago i remember some terrible dark nights, as you say you could not see your hand in front of your face, and the lamp was on evry few paces, just so you didnt trip up

i can see you know what ime on about tommo because i was the same battery dont last half as long on nights like that as i said only ever happened twice to me but very strange when it is like it.

Places like that are becoming very few and far between around here. It seems like the wankers are building houses or putting roads on any little bit of countryside there is.. Where will it stop!!

even if your in the middle of nowhere the moon or the stars will normally give enough light but the kind of nights ime talking about and tomo is very differant just total blackness try closing your eyes real tight thats what it was like both nights never had it since .

had a night like that about 15 years ago,never forget it,first and last time my missus ever came lamping,nearly standing on a pig never done her any favours either lol,she was holding onto me that tight i couldnt f*****g breathe,she never asked again so jobs a good en in my eyes,thing is she thinks it like that every night and we are all f*****g mad to be in this game especially if you go out regular on your own like i do

Only ever witnessed the feeling up in scotland and on an island in orkney even though the sky was full of stars it was very dark due to the remoteness and the sea being on both sides of us in a short distance.The only other complete darkness was [bANNED TEXT] i worked down the pit in some parts [bANNED TEXT] you turned your cap lamp off

Yeah tis a rare occasion, have to get out in the real sticks to find that.

 

Never really understood the point in a lot of the light pollution, for example lighting up dual carriagways etc, surely thats what you bloody headdlights are for!

 

Even though we are quite rural we still get a lot of pollution from bristol and bath.

 

Would love to see some realy darkness, went down a mine in arizona and that was total darness, bloody mental!

seen it a few times in scotland,,,,,and when i was in night navacation in the army,,,,,,total balck out,,,,couldnt see my hand 6inches from my face,,,,,,,,,,,,one off those night in army ,,,i walked in to electic fence,,,,,,,( yes it hurt)

 

white out on snow as well,,,,nearly just as bad

seen i few white outs aswell,,,,,with the snow blizzards up here,,,,1st when i was 16 teen,,,,,,,couldnt see 2 foot in front off me,,,,during the day,,,,,,,my well trained gun dog ran off aswell,,,,,,,but came back when it was all over

When the greedy b*****ds reach the sea by the look of it
