I love the bull nature/personality, i think that comes even before her working ability in my eyes....

and its people like me that got the pitbull band, your words molly, the words of a tree hugger, its all to do with work, work and more work, and for you molly in words you will understand,to beat the mothers out of the dog, means to work the dog hard ,and then and only then bred the dog to a bitch that has had the same treatment, thats how you get good dogs imho.

i dont own bull crosses and never will, but i will say i have seen them work and work hard, and they never give an inch or ever quit. most of the bull crosses i have seen come from S.Wales area so thank you to the boys dowm there for giving us good dogs

%99 of the bitches used for breeding lurchers are failed track dogs , how many do you no that have been brought op and worked like a lurcher to see what its charicter is like ,

there wont be many thats for sure. maybe thats why there is a lot of wastage, who knows. it must be better to breed from a dog that is bein worked though. im sure the men that used the pitbull in times gone by wouldnt have bred to a bitch that wasnt game and hard tested, well the ones that were in the box and using them for what they were bred to do.

i dont no the breeding of the sire of my pup, i took the lads word he was a good un, the dam was worked by me for about 5 and abit years and she worked well, GOOD ENOUGH to breed off, 3 of the pups are now working well, i have no feed back on the rest of the litter. i dont believe in working adog when its sore, if the dog has done its job let him recover fully befor you try him agian, to much could make him spew,

sorry people but i like to go out more than once a month,so mine are sore most of the time, but each to there own,i agree with you dogginlad, would rather a pup from a line of dogs, not just the parents that can take it,again my choice, you can get your dogs from what you like, and work em how you like,

A truely good dog will work when a little sore. Lets be honest, many dogs are keen and "up for it" when first brought out and run on the first critter of the night. BUT the big question is will they be just as keen on the second......the third.......or the fourth? We talk about the bull being tested, but then we put it to an untested ex track greyhound, immediately diluting the bull 50% with the greyhound....perhaps the greyhhound side (usually the bitch) should be the one under the spotlight more?.....

I personally think that the true game bull/greyhound is an endangered species. puppy peddlers, messers and people trying to make a living out of them have f****d up the genepool with shit dogs beingn bred from. Thankfully there are still isolated pockets of good guys that do test, that do know whats they need from a bull/grey. they expect the dog to possess gameness and be able to finish the job solo. no back up. single handed. I have seen bull crosses with bad feet, but i have also seen some with decent feet.

personally i can see the wheaton/grey becoming the next "must have" lurcher and that being totally f****d up too......shame...... a crying shame..... but i hope im wrong...

agree with j.d,last year i tried looking for a wheaten x as they look, and seem ideal for what i required,i emailed some breeder about a possible pup,or if he knew of any litters, but the rude prat could,nt be bothered to even reply.i like to be different and not follow everyone elses fads(with bullxs) but got another bullx in the end and its coming on superb :D also dont like running a dog sore,i know how much it hurts when you rip an old scab off at work.
