sandymere 8,263
Sounds a good sort. You are unlikely to do a lot of work till next autum now so i'd take time to get the basic training right, stock breaking , fitness & growing up through the summer. In part it will depend on what you want to do ie lamping or ferreting etc as to how you prepare. I got an 8 month old last year and spent the summer getting it right and it's paid off this winter. You might get in a couple of sessions in, I lamped a couple of eves at the end of last season, but in truth it was forgotten by this season and the summers prep was what counted in that I had a very fit and well trained youngster ready to learn and robust enough to do the job. Good luck s Edited February 23, 2010 by sandymere
