danebrewer10 6
any gun shop will give you advice on what you should be using, there's loads of info on the net, but watch out as American shot sizes are different to UK shot sizes, and where we use grams to measure shot load weight, they use ounces... Generally, for everyday shooting, rough shooting at pigeons, rabbits, that sort of thing, you can't go wrong with 30gm or no6 or 5, for anything else, ie waterfowl you'll be needing non toxic shot, either steel or another high density non toxic shot, though if you choose steel you'll want to go a couple of shot sizes higher than in lead and up your payload to compensate for the reduced density. DB PS- this should have gone in the ammunition & acessories category Edited February 22, 2010 by danebrewer10 Quote Link to post
apperknowle 3
For general shooting. 30 or 32 gram 6's n you won't go far wrong. atb Martin Quote Link to post

Deker 3,478
For General Field work I favour 5, around the 30 mark, will bring down just about anything. General Clay work 7.5 or 8 usually 28, Skeet 9, 21/24 if you can find them. I have just about every size going up to and including SG, but no need to rush out and buy loads, time will tell and you'll soon get an idea!! Quote Link to post
