pike fishing at cholmondeley estate castle

went pike fishing with my oap pal at week end its nice to get him out wet a line we went to cholmondeley castle cheshire for a days pike fishing

we got thier the lake was flat calm the sun was shining a lovely crisp winters morning

then just as id baited a large sprat onto the hook the heavens opened with big flakes of snow it was freezing i was wrapped up like a pass the parcell at a kids party but still couldnt feel my fingers face or toes we sat thier all day nothing not a sniff then the bung slowly darted under then up again then under then up again i must of waited a good couple of mins before i struck at the fish

immedietly i new id hooked a good fish with weight i could feel and the way the rod tip bent right around thier was a great swirl with 1 of those magical greeny silver flashes only the pike can give then it was just a case of hauling it in really

i was a little dissapointed the pike didnt put up much of a fight but on the other hand this girl is my biggest pike ive landed making it my personal best she wieghed in at just under 16.5 lb iam over the moon with her and she was released to grace the waters once again

aye lads i couldnt believe the size of this girls head iam no pro at fishing but i love fishing and have done on and off for 18 years you could have put your own head in its mouth well pleased with mesen nice1 chaps
