Most ferrets when introduced will have a tumble around but your hob should take nicely to having a couple of jills to run with, they really are social animals and are great to watch together and seem to benefit from it. Also the jills do take care of the hobs a bit, making the nest etc.

Better off with 2 jills in with him but if you dont want to breed them get your hob vesectimised or get the jills the jill jab to bring them out of season.

Hi kurtrog70, everyone...

I'm no expert having just last year started with the whole Ferret thing and I can only tell you what my experience was...

First I had a brother and sister from 12 weeks old. They were happy enough together inside a partition of a block shed, 6' x 6' with natural daylight. The occomodation was three converted breeding cages stacked on top of one another with flexible tubing from level to level as well as a sloping piece of plank and the lower exit has always been open and they have free range in there area.

After a couple of months, I went to the animal rescue and was able to get two others, not related but the same age as the original two.

The Jills have been spayed and the Hobs neutered.

At first, our original Hob, the biggest, started to fight and rag the newer Hob. This lasted for a couple of days. The noise was nasty. If I split them up, they immediatley got back to where they left off. This is something you either get through or you separate them, permanantly, perhaps?

From then on, they all live together and their are no issues.

I have taken them out and they work well, for beginners, putting dinner on the table.

They are very social and can be handled by anyone....They are GREAT!
