my pup is getting close

Recommended Posts

I can understand wat you are going through as i have a 12 month old beddy hybred pup thats the same but shes not even comeing close and has no natrual running ability.Wat you have got to realise is that rabbits are at their best now bar the milky does were as if it was august sept she would have probably nailed a few just keep at it but avoid giving her runs at awkward rabbits as i have noticed with mine shes getting disheartend and i dont think it will be long before she stops running some but seen as she has to work with my spaniels its a risk i will have to take.Wat cross is yours by the way as that can some times make a difference.atvb dell

I normally let my pup's start with a bit of bushing with the other dog's or ferreting,so long as the other dog's don't keep beating her to the punch they normally self enter,I've had my lads 8 month old pup out with me all week and she's had three easy rabbit's,no proper run's just right place right time sort of stuff, she even brought them to hand,if you have any mates that live by you I'm sure they'll take you bushing or ferreting, you don't say if its a big cross or a small,I personally wouldn't over match a big cross at that age with the lamp, hope this helps, yours in sport, wirral countryman

hi my pup who is about 10 months now has been out lamping once and out early in the morning loads of times and still hasnt caught any rabbits. the question i want to ask is how long should i wait before i start to worry about her not catching anything.

its a pup mate, give it another couple months, put it on a few green young bunnies, slowly slowly wins the race mate,no rush
