bird 9,913
Bird, your obsessed with weights and measures. regards collie john. Not really, i agree with Whin that 23- 26in and shape he said makes a good lurcher, and you will find that most lads would say the same. Not everybody wants a 20-22in dog Quote Link to post
jazz 30
jazz.yes the lurchers are 1st crosses,if you click on the pic it should enlarge it for you.im not sure if typp has any plans for breeding but i could ask the q if you want Whin.the collie that typp uses is a fell collie makes a more biddable dog than other collie`s (tin hat on now)but lets not turn this into a collie slagging post EDITED to add the above is not directed at anyone in particular,i just didnt want the post by jazz to go off topic [/quot if you dont mind happy larry yes could you ask him if he's breeding any pups this year after everything everyone's saying on here about his dogs im definately intrested in purchaseing one Quote Link to post

jazz 30
Typp is a very goodfriend of mine and has been for years, i,m up at Typp,s most weeks throughout the season, and i do abit of judging with him, he has bred some great dogs over the years, one of which was Brian Ellis Fly, a fantastic first cross bitch, which was an outstanding hare coursing dog, which won alot of matches in her time.I have a reverse threequarter bred bitch off Typp, she,s been the best dog i,ve ever owned catching alot of game for me over the years, all my current dogs are out of her and Typp,s lines. Typp has always usd the right sort of collies in his lines, i.e. Fell collies, and he usually uses a Fell collie bitch back to a greyhound dog, and to me this keeps the size down, his dogs aren,t like the big heavy square shouldered types of first crosses you see alot off, their light boned and very racey in appearance, i,ve seen Happy Larry,s bitch, and she is a very nice type, along with Typp,s Arri, who is a fantastic dog, Woodga has a dog off Typp, called Typp, and he is more than happy with him, i really rate Typp,s lineage of dog,s and to be honest it,s really hard nowadays to find people who are honest and genuine who work and breed the right types of collie greyhounds. regards collie john. [/quo from the feed back ive got from askin about typps strain of collie cross its obvious everyone seems very happy with them, like i said to happy larry if you are breeding any pups of this strain i would be intrested especially if its 3/4 grey 1/4 collie...are your dogs game aswell as clever ?? as with collie crosses it sometimes one or the other ?? whin 463
alot of collie crosses ive saw were not bred for gameness on foxes when it was legal , as they are to provide fod and edible game for table that is the true roll of a lurcher unless some have forgot , ive had and got game collie types and saw other lads with them ,if you enter them CORRECTLY AND ARE BRED OF GAME DOGS THEN THEY WILL BE A BETTER CHANCE OF GETING GAME DOGS ,but not let us forget the lurcher or colie lurcher for me was and will always be to put edible food on the table and if they thrash other game well its a bonus ,i dont think people or expeirence peole bred good clever poaching curs to catch a fox, cause a fox wont make a casserole or a roast of leg on a sunday dinner or a few shilligs for pocket money , i think alof of guys have missed the conception what collie lurchers were bred for ,ive saw several good collie lurchers take a fox,and te more caut ,the better as they eat all the nice game food for the table lol Quote Link to post
