albert64 1,882
we were out today got in the field just before 7 lovely frosty morning, walked up to the back of the farm as dont usually get that far over, dog marked a set in the field so netted up and put in a small sandy jill, this jill has took some stick this season but never faulters, has a coffee no sign of anything, gets a mark at 7ft and this jill wont come off had a dig last week 6ft in sand, so leaves my pal while i take the dog to try and get another mark back after 20mins still no sign just going to start digging when out he comes slipped the net but the dog got him before he reached the hedge then another bolts in to a net so it was ferret up and on to the next mark 2 more out of that set with digs of 3ft anyway 2more bolts and 2more digs so ended up with 8 big healthy rabbits no young about so might get another week or two realy enjoyable morning with the young dog showing maturity beyond his 16mths Quote Link to post

albert64 1,882
There is a lot of soil in a 7 feet dig tell me about it lovely flat fields but every set is deep and there lofted after about 2ft down turns to sand so finding the tube with the bar can be a nightmare cos you dont feel the bar drop, but weve had plenty of rabbits of it this year Quote Link to post
