Big bald beautiful 1,231
Had my friday afternoon walk(cant beat finishing work at 12 ). I have seen a few mink about lately, watched one swimming and hunting about on tuesday.so went for a mouch hoping to bag another(had one about 10 days ago). only a small river and lots of dykes and flooded sheep fields. Only have the two terriers so its all legal and above board dogs hunted a dyke side and young dog nabbed a rat, then the first mink got up and ran, both dogs screaming after it, head down like hounds. made it to a safe tree old dog couldnt get in but young dog could this mink was safe for another day , within a hundred yards they had sighted another and were wading about trying to find a line(think thats what they call it ) this one i didnt see until it was on the far bank and well safe. still nice to be out and there around for another day Quote Link to post

dillan 19
Nice one BBB Went down new junction after work other day for a mooch with 2 young bitches lookin for mink. Nothing about until Bess shot in bramble patch, heard her running through water on otherside and lost her for 15 mins. She appeared from nowhere covered in blood, had a close look and it was obvious it was fox. Had a look round but couldnt find anything . Never mind, cant win them all. Out earlier dogs managed 2 rats and I shot 4, had to get back to find out who killed Archie LOL. Off out ferreting tomorrow to top up freezer with rabbits an check a few earths on sunday.
