I'd up the speed limit on the motorway to 90mph and make it variable according on the conditions & traffic flow. Then drop it to 20 in residential areas round schools etc. Speed cameras would only be placed around schools, parks, playgrounds, etc.

I wouldn't invent one but would bring back the law that said anyone on a town council had to have run a successful business for so many years.

Perhaps then my council tax would be used in a reasonable manner and not for every crackpot idea some treehugger in an office can think up.
