Modded Silencers

Recommended Posts

Just after my buddy RiffRaff posted a thread on modding Silencers on here I arranged to meet up with him for a decent cup of Java  (sadly he was driving so it couldn't be a decent Lager)

When I got the S200 it had an Air Arms silencer on the muzzle and it was very good (well I thought it was compared to the noise when pulling the trigger without a silencer on!).

Eventually Niel got his mits on a UNF adaptor for me and when we were out at the range one day, we tried the Custom built silencer that I had on my Beast springer.

When I pulled the trigger of the S200, it was clearly way way quieter than the original AA unit. So from then on in, the Beast was left without a silencer and the custom built one was left on the S200 :gunsmilie: making the PCP very, very quiet indeed :clapper:

When we met up, I gave Niel the original AA unit to try and open as it was sealed tight and even heating it up over the cooker wouldnt break the threadlock

Niel brought it back last night with his mods done for me, which saved me from doing them :notworthy:

We had a quick trip to the Paddock (in the rain) and tested the modified AA unit on the S200.

Well F :censored: k Me I couldn't believe it :icon_eek:. Just standing next to the gun all I could hear was the clink of the hammer against the valve :icon_eek:

I then placed my cocked and loaded gun in his hand and walked about 20 yards in front of him and got him to aim just over my right shoulder and pull the trigger.

F :censored: K me again!! WOW I heard only the sound of an AAFD whizz past my ear. It sounded like a Gnat on speed

I am sooooo impressed with the difference that the S200 now has its own whisper quiet Silencer on it and the Beast has now regained its extra 6 inches.

When we got back to mine, I did the similar mod with the custom built silencer on the springer (bearing in mind that I have already dampened the sound of the action greatly) I then took it out into the outhouse and let off a few pellets. My wife in the lounge didn't hear a thing (thank goodness or my nuts would have been removed). The Springer is now almost as silent as the S200.

I am greatly impressed. What was it you said Si? sounds like a fly farting at 50 yards? Thats what my springer sounds like now :clapper::gunsmilie:

Cheers RiffRaff

sounds like a good mod. isnt that a little dangerous? i mean i dont shoot when there are other people in the garden, even if there way off to one side.

It is Aaeron.

Nothing dangerous at all though, come on you should know me better than that by now

Oh you mean the pellet whizzing past my ear?

Given the angle of the shot, the pellet would have been a good 8 to 10 feet away from me. We trust each other.

The ones in the garden were safe too. The pellets could not leave my boundary :D
