Phantom 631
I reckon it would gut, skin and tenderise them bunnies in one pull of the trigger. Not only that, say you had a field with a couple of dozen cotten tails, you would bound to take out the ones stood behind your target and the shock wave from the round would take the ones out at the side too Phantom Edited February 18, 2010 by Phantom Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Thats a nice rifle that mate. Do you know what it is? It shot and killed a member of my last Regt in NI a few years back from about 1.5 miles away over the border. It went straight through his breast plate body armour when the troubles were bad over there. Ive also shot one of them in Sennelager Germany. I shot it at a wall to demonstarte that in NI you cant hide behind garden walls and think your safe. It took the wall out. Its called a barrette Light 50 calibre. Its not so light though pal. I think it has a 5 shot mag if I remember correct. Si Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Yeah, they are viscious. I've not shot the Barret but I would just love to give it a go Your right, its a 5 shot. Amazing for long distance Sniping Phantom Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
It weighs a tonne pal and not the rifle you want to be tabbing about with up and down hills. Great from a hidden location though, at distance dropping targets I know a SF sniper from another nationality very well that used one in Afghanistan doing a very serious and professional job. He is so good at his job that he was given his own name by the local Afghans militia and became very high on their hit list. He has a few stories to tell people but not the sort I’m willing to expand on in this forum pal Si Quote Link to post
aaronpigeonplucker 32
barret .50 cal. were you in the army si? Quote Link to post

silentshot1 206
I saw a video demonstration of those at the Arms fair in Earls court, just unbelievable what they can do in the right hands. Also had a play with some of the South African anti armour rifles. Terrifying to be on the receiving end I imagine, even if it misses, the hole next to you would give most people a second thought! I made a lame quip about coming in handy for rabbits on the farm and after a quick humorlous saffa retort of 'No sir, you would not have the correct import license', left quickly. Amazing stuff though! Quote Link to post

The guy getting the Ric' actually caught a fragment from a secondary ric of the ground in front of the bench Look carefully and you can see a puff of dust on the floor before his ear protectors take the fragment.
