littlefish 585
Do you have any other dogs or does he live alone? Perhaps he is bored or stressed and does this to entertain himself if he is lonely? Quote Link to post
Hannah4181 260
It may be boredom, but its more likely to be the pup going through its secondary teething stage. The dog will NEED to chew, its not being naughty, it's cutting its last teeth. It probably prefers the wood because it has become a habit now, google a product called "bitter bite" . . . its an anti chew spray, cover the wood in that and then provide him with some butchers bones, raw and with plenty of meat on to tempt him. As has been suggested if he's a food orientated dog, then there is a variety of toys on the market that can be stuffed with food and will entertain the dog. . . . IMO "Kongs" are the best for this job, and indestructable so worth the money. Quote Link to post

Hannah4181 260
I agree with Watchman, leaving a dog muzzled, unattended in a kennel, is in my opinion both unnecessary and dangerous. Quote Link to post
