lamper123 0
i need help choosing what cross to use on my bitch. she is a purebred greyhound bred out of racing stock. i am thinking of crossing her to produce some collie greyhounds but i dont know whether to cross her to a 3/4 collie 1/4 greyhound or to a 1/2 cross collie greyhound. they would be used in the daytime and at night on whatever pops its head up. my bitches mum got upto S4 and could of got higher but she hurt her wrist so was retired. if i did breed her would anybody be interested in a pup for free ( not in it for the money, just the fun of working with dogs). also if anybody has a good working dog of one of these crosses and will breed it to my bitch for the swap of a pup then please get in touch. all advice greatly appreciated Quote Link to post
ferreter.al 22
if it was me mate it would either be full collie of reverse 3/4 collie grey (if you can find one!) atvb Quote Link to post
kill um with crisps 7
50/50 mate, that way youle produce 75/25s. Or 100% collie to produce 50/50s! Both are cracking lurchers and iv no doubt youle sell um all easily. Quote Link to post
stroller 341
half bred collie over her or maybe a half cross kelpie or australian cattle dog, to give you three quarter speed with some brain and hopefully good feet and coat. You have a good attitude to breeding for your own use but remember pups are F.....g hard work so dont sell your self short make enough to help with your expense and time, Wheatons, bulls, salukis etcs are at the moment popular but for a good all rounder i dont think the 3/4 grey/collie can be beat. i have five dogs at the moment or i would take you up on a pup in fact im stil tempted........ i can hear the wife sceaming as i type Quote Link to post
killa-combo 142
i would put a good half cross to the gray Quote Link to post

cooper101 86
it all have to be the half cross to make to make some nice 3/4 greyhound x 1/4 collie pups!! you shouldnt have any problem selling the pups providing you get a good working half cross too sire the pups!! but if you are set on giving any away i'd be only to happy to add a second dog to my kennel as my current 3/4 grey x 1/4collie is two years old now and im ready to start training another pup to add to the team!! all the best with that and if you need any help finding a good working sire let me know and i'll see if i can put you on to anyone!! Hurlock 114
I'd put her across a nice racey fell collie mate should be plenty up Cumbria way. I'm after a proper collie cross and would happily pay for one mate. Hurlock Quote Link to post
