Thomsons dogs 37
sjm do you no think thats why its better to line off what you see running for your self then make up your mind??? we no it dont always work!!!but better seen than words only my oppinion?? definately wullie without a doubt. cant argue with you there. I saw the bitch running though and honestly the fastest killing thing ever so I thought if she was put to something that could also kill fast the pups would be worth a gamble. Ask me again next season and you will know the outcome, one things for sure with me they will get plenty of stuff put in front of them to find the weaknesses if they are there have you lined your dog from it sjm just by what you said asked you next season Quote Link to post
Guest SJM
I will know by then if the pups are any good or not. But no worries here, if they arent up to the grade they will be PTS, I dont care about getting crabbed for that, crab away! better off as a neutered fireside pet or in a hole in the ground than passed around as this thread is proof!!! Guest SJM
The red bitch went to Tonzas mate at about 3 months old I couldnt gel with it at all It screamed the place down constantly, and I preferred my other pup which is the bitch Ive got now. Nothing wrong with a pup that age as its a blank sheet of paper, what annoys one person might not annoy the next, some folk dont mind about a dog howling especially if they dont have neighbours. The 2 black ones that came from Tonza well as I allready said in another post if you bothered to read it, one went to young Jordan and it was no good so it was PTS the one I had could kill a couple on the local land but when I tried it out at Stirling I didnt see anything special there and a mate of Jings was keen to have it, but he ended up selling it on cos it wasnt for him either, I think thats the one thats supposed to be doing well? Its a black dog called Jack and has one dewclaw on one front leg that grew back, very distinctive. If I try a dog out and its got no heart or serious faults they get PTS, the Jack dog had nothing wrong with it, just wasnt for me, I wanted something a bit better. If the guy thats got him now is happy well thats great. Quote Link to post

I did read the stuff that was written on here which was the reason behind me phoning around to try and verify if it was truth, rumour or just plain crabbing. A guy who had seen the dog in action (not beefy) said he reckoned it was a good prospect for the type of ground we run up here, and hes a good bloke who tells it like it is. Only time will tell eh. Best of luck to you too and happy huntin! Quote Link to post

Sonny Brindle 2
Its a black dog called Jack and has one dewclaw on one front leg that grew back, very distinctive. Unfortunate name for a coursing dog. Quote Link to post
arcticgun 4,548
I wouldn't be worrying to much, the fact is that the dog did win the comp and thats no mean feat, not many do win comps staying in condition whilst all the heats are run etc, takes more than luck also its litter sister that was sold for big money, would have been tested proper, ran hard by its original owner. The make up of these dogs indicates quick on and off type of running well I see a lot of blue scots type flags on this threads posters avatars, so i take it they will be run shortfield and the odd bit of big land, well saluki whippet greys are designed for that type of coursing. The fact is the dog may have been given to much, slipped whilst suffering a minor injury etc etc, and it stopped, but it didn't stop in the comp on big land so its a hearty jacker that was found out in the wrong game, but did perform and win big, to me thats 'chancy' take its offspring up your neck of the woods and who knows the bitch has a large say as well and if she impressed you enough to chance an 'outcross' line, you have increased your chances further, then the rest is down to the owner and our friends chance and luck I wouldn't be afraid to try one if I lived your ways on,good luck with them, all good dogs get crabbed, its the internets way of saying you exsist 1 Quote Link to post
miss lurcher 11
I've just mated my saluki bitch (6 weeks ago) to the full brother to Pepsi (2nd litter NH dog) I have to agree with arcticgun that the bitch has a big say. After seeing and hearing about the others in the litters I dont think you can go wrong with this blood line. Quote Link to post
