zini 1,939
Hi all, The 2 new Hawke 4-16x50 MAP Pro 6 scopes arrived today along with my F1 chrono i ordered off the net. I was going to save the scopes for my new springers, but curiosity got the better of me and i wanted to see how they faired, so i mounted one on my R10 now that it has been chronoed at 11.51 FP. Looking at the Hawke BRC software and entering my R10's data i settled on a 25 metres (27 yard) zero giving me a mil dot aim point from 5m to 45m. I then took the rifle and zeroed it at 25m in the woods. To test that the Nick Jenkinson designed reticule worked at other distances, i set up a blue volvic bottle top target at 30 metres and 40 metres. Set on x6 mag i gave the 30m target 1 mil dot hold over smacking the target in the middle At 40m i gave the target 3 mil dots hold over also hitting the small bottle top that was pinned to a tree 3 times in succession. I’m quite impressed with the new scope and recommend them to anyone wanting a good and easy to use and calibrate hunting scope. Here is the data and a photo of the rifle and scope Zini BSA R10 with FX pellets.docFetching info... Edited February 16, 2010 by zini Quote Link to post
Sweeney-Todd 208
Hi Zini. Ill second that mate, good scopes and very easy to calibrate with the software. Only trouble I found was my poor old eye's couldnt cope with the small ret picture, and in poor light made it worse. Excellent scope otherwise. Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Yes i did notice the change in reticule size pal. I am used to using my big old tasco set on x10 mag so it was a shock to see a small one like that mate set at x6 mag. The good way to look at it though mate is that due to the small size of the mil system and low mag, my wobble should be smaller and if im not entirely sure of the range to the quarry i can put the whole reticule over the kill area and should guarentee a kill LOL Si Quote Link to post

I have found that stopping at just 4 pint's of cyder has stopped my wobble a bit Just need to stop falling over now Quote Link to post
